It's Christmas eve.
I'm not religious. I don't know what I believe.
But just like everyone else, I celebrate Christmas. Wonder why that is...
I guess it's because, even though I don't necessarily believe in the Lord, I do believe in the spirit of love. Christmas is about surrounding yourself with family and friends and enjoying each others company. Being thankful for what you have, as little or as lot as it is. And, of course, giving each other pointless presents.
Personally I could take or leave the presents. It's the smiles on my families faces, a few nice drinks and a couple nice meals, and watching the kids squeal with delight and wonder as they open their gifts that make it worth it to me.
So I guess I owe something to Christianity and to god, if He exists or not (I have yet to make up my mind), for giving me and my family this holiday which allows us, for one day year, to put aside our differences and honestly say 'I love you'.
Merry Christmas everybody.
